Description
This project involves the design and development of a purpose-driven e-commerce and subscription platform built on WooCommerce, tailored for organisations combining retail, education, community engagement, and charitable impact. The platform must support both direct-to-consumer sales and corporate purchasing flows, while transparently showcasing social impact and customer engagement.
The core system will include a fully customised WooCommerce store with multiple product types such as variable products, bundles, personalised items, and subscription-based boxes. Customers should be able to purchase one-time products, subscribe to recurring boxes, book workshops or online sessions, and request corporate quotations through structured workflows. The checkout experience must support VAT handling, shipping zones, payment gateways, and a smooth user experience across devices.
A key requirement is the development of a custom Impact Tracker module, implemented using custom post types and dynamic frontend components. This module will track funded projects, donation percentages per order, progress indicators, timelines, and updates. The system must also generate automated charity or impact certificates in PDF format, linked to customer orders and emailed automatically upon completion.
The platform will integrate loyalty, referral, and ambassador programs, allowing customers to earn points, refer others, and access dedicated ambassador landing pages. Multilingual and multi-currency support will be implemented to serve a global audience, initially supporting English, Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi. Translation and currency switching must be SEO-friendly and scalable.
From a technical perspective, the project requires strong experience with WordPress, WooCommerce, Elementor, and premium WooCommerce extensions, as well as custom PHP development for bespoke workflows. Developers will need to handle plugin integrations, performance optimisation, security hardening, SEO setup, analytics integration, consent management, and quality assurance testing. The solution must be stable, secure, and production-ready, with clear separation between core logic, custom features, and third-party plugins.
