Gigsgen Fees and Charges

 

For Employers/Clients:

Projects

Gigsgen enables free registration, project posting, freelancer/talent bidding, review of freelancer portfolios, and discussion of project requirements. If you decide to award the project, we will levy a modest project fee proportional to the chosen bid, serving as an introductory charge.

The specific cost and method of fee assessment depend on the project type.

Gigsgen exclusively operates on a fixed-price project basis and does not currently support hourly contracts. However, if clients prefer hourly payment arrangements, they can engage in discussions with the talent regarding the estimated project duration and mutually agree on a lump sum price.

For fixed-price projects, we apply a fee of 3% or $3.00 USD (whichever is greater) upon awarding the project. If the project scope expands and you subsequently make additional payments exceeding the original bid amount, we will also charge the project fee on the excess payments.

You have the option to cancel the project from your dashboard within a period of five (5) days after acceptance, provided that the talent has not completed the project, entitling you to a full refund of your fee.

Services

When placing a service order, employers/clients are required to provide funds equivalent to the total service price. The Gigsgen Payment System safeguards your payment until you are completely satisfied with the delivered work.

Please only release the payment once you are fully content with the work that has been delivered.

For Freelancers/Talent:

Talent can freely register, create profiles, select project skills of interest, upload portfolios, showcase completed projects in the marketplace to sell the prototypes, receive project notifications, engage in project discussions with employers, and bid on projects without incurring any charges. As part of a promotion, all subscribed talent can place unlimited bids each month.

Gigsgen exclusively operates on a fixed-price project basis and does not currently offer hourly contracts. However, if clients prefer to pay on an hourly basis, they can negotiate with the talent regarding the estimated project duration and mutually agree on a lump sum price.

Projects

For fixed-price projects, upon being awarded a project and accepting it, we apply a small project fee relative to the value of the selected bid as an introduction fee. If you subsequently receive payments exceeding the original bid amount, we will also charge the project fee on the additional payments.

As an ongoing promotion, the fee for fixed-price projects is 10% or $5.00 USD, whichever is greater.

Bring Your Own Client (5% Fees Promotion)

Freelancers who refer new employers, without existing accounts on Gigsgen.com, and facilitate their creation of new accounts, will receive a reduced project commission of 5% instead of standard commission rate for all future projects performed for the referred employer.

This promotion is subject to the following conditions:

• The reduced freelancer project commission of 5% applies exclusively to new work performed by the referring freelancer for the specific employer to whom the promotion is applied. The new projects must commence after the employer creates a new account on Gigsgen.com and be initiated using that new account.
• Project commission fees for the talent are reduced from 10% to 5% solely under this promotion. All other fees and charges, including employer commissions and transaction fees, remain unaffected.
• Gigsgen reserves the right to review the classification of employers as new employers to ensure fair utilization of this promotion. Employers must have engaged in prior work and payment transactions with the referring talent, for example, through another platform, before the promotion's commencement. Freelancers/talent may be required to provide evidence of such prior work and payment to be eligible for the commission reduction. To qualify for this promotion, employers must not have had any active account on Gigsgen.com from which a payment was made within the six months immediately preceding the creation of the new account.
• All other provisions of the User Agreement remain applicable. Please refer to the User Agreement for further details.
• All other components of the Fees and Charges section outlined in the Additional Terms remain in effect. Please refer to the Fees & Charges section for more information.
• Gigsgen may request that both parties complete their profiles, undergo identity verification, and meet specific project details requirements before releasing payments.
• Gigsgen may stipulate that the details for any project eligible for the commission reduction must be appropriately completed.
• This promotion may be withdrawn for specific users in the event of significant reversals, fraud, chargebacks, disputes between employers and freelancers, or for any other justifiable reason that may pose a risk to funds. Gigsgen also reserves the right to disallow the use of this promotion at its sole and absolute discretion to ensure fair utilization and prevent suspected fraudulent activities.
• Gigsgen reserves the right to request additional information from any party intending to avail themselves of this promotion for the purposes of fraud investigation, risk management, and related matters.
• Gigsgen reserves the right to cancel or amend this promotion at any time.
• Gigsgen reserves the right to cancel the promotion in any region if offering the promotion to residents of that region is deemed or becomes unlawful.

Membership Plans (to be launched)

Choose from a diverse range of membership plans to determine the fees associated with our services. As a free member, you can operate as a client or talent, while upgrading to a paid plan grants you additional benefits.

Memberships will automatically renew on a monthly or annual basis on the anniversary of your subscription unless canceled. If your funds are insufficient, we will make efforts to renew your membership for up to 30 days, until sufficient funds become available.

You retain the right to cancel your membership at any time through the user settings page, which will cease billing at the end of your subscription period without incurring additional costs.

Gigsgen Corporate (to be launched)

Elevate your profile to a Corporate level and gain the trust and credibility necessary to enhance your business presence. Similar to Gigsgen Membership plans, the Corporate option offers both annual and monthly subscription options. You can cancel your Corporate subscription at any time through the User settings page, ensuring that billing will cease at the end of your subscription period without any additional charges.

Dispute Arbitration Charges

The fee for arbitration in the case of a milestone dispute shall amount to $5.00 USD or 5% of the disputed amount, whichever is greater.

Our dispute resolution system is intentionally designed to facilitate the resolution of issues pertaining to milestone payments between both parties without resorting to arbitration.

Upon filing a dispute, either party may, after a period of 4 days (or 7 days if the dispute is initiated by the freelancer), opt to escalate the matter to paid arbitration. The opposing party will then have an additional 4 days to agree to cover the arbitration fee and for both parties to present any final evidence. Failure by the opposing party to make the payment within the specified timeframe will result in their forfeiture of the dispute.

Subsequently, the arbitration fee shall be reimbursed to the party that emerges as the prevailing party in the dispute.

Offsetting Fee

Users who contravene our User Agreement by engaging in communications and transactions outside of the platform shall be subject to a penalty equivalent to 30% of the maximum project budget or the agreed-upon amount.

Withdrawal Fees

Fees may be optionally imposed depending on the chosen method of withdrawal. Additional charges may be levied by the third-party entity providing the withdrawal service.

We enforce a minimum withdrawal threshold of USD $30, following the deduction of applicable fees, to ensure compliance with our official financial policies.

Maintenance Fee

Inactive user accounts that have not been accessed for a continuous period of six months shall be subject to a maintenance fee of up to $10.00 USD per month. This fee is intended to cover the costs associated with storage, bandwidth, support, and management required to host the user's profile, portfolio storage, listing in directories, file storage, and message storage. Upon subsequent reactivation of the account, these fees will be promptly refunded upon user request.

Taxes

The assessment and application of taxes are in accordance with the prevailing local rates and regulations as defined by the user's country of residence or registered country, as stipulated in the User Agreement. Gigsgen and its affiliates do not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. It is recommended that users seek advice from their own tax, legal, and accounting advisors to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

User Agreement

The fees and charges outlined on this page are governed by the terms and conditions specified in the Gigsgen User Agreement, along with the associated site policies. It is crucial for users to thoroughly read and understand the complete User Agreement, as it encompasses additional significant provisions. Section 22 of the User Agreement specifically delineates the consequences of contract termination due to violations of the agreement. Such consequences may include fines for damages incurred by Gigsgen as a result of any actions that contravene the User Agreement.

Updates to the Fees & Charges Policy:

Gigsgen may update this Fees & Charges policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, and best practices. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about the current fee structure.
