Description
This project involves the design and development of an AgriTech Smart Dry Soil Detection and Advisory Platform, combining IoT hardware, a mobile application, backend services, and an admin control system. The solution is intended to help farmers, agronomists, and agricultural enterprises monitor soil conditions in real time and receive actionable, data-driven advisories to improve irrigation efficiency, crop health, and resource utilisation.
At the core of the system is an IoT-based soil sensing device capable of capturing real-time data such as soil moisture levels, temperature, and related environmental parameters. These devices communicate with the mobile application via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, syncing data to a cloud-based backend for processing and storage. The mobile app includes secure user authentication, profile management, device ordering, payment processing, and shipment tracking, ensuring a seamless end-to-end user experience from device purchase to deployment.
Once configured, users can map their agricultural fields using GPS and interactive field mapping, associate multiple devices with specific locations, and monitor live and historical data through an intuitive dashboard. The platform supports multiple device management, enabling comparative analysis across different plots or zones. Real-time alerts notify users when soil conditions reach critical thresholds, such as excessive dryness, enabling timely intervention.
The backend system aggregates sensor data at scale and applies rule-based logic and data-driven advisory algorithms to generate personalised recommendations, including irrigation guidance, fertiliser suggestions, and crop-care actions. These advisories are enhanced through live weather API integrations, allowing the system to factor in current and forecasted weather conditions when generating recommendations.
An integrated subscription and payment module manages recurring billing, plan upgrades, and transaction history, while the admin panel provides full control over users, roles, device provisioning, shipments, data ingestion, advisory configuration, and notification management. The platform also includes product recommendation and e-commerce redirection, linking advisory outcomes to relevant agricultural products available via partner websites.
Overall, this system delivers a scalable, secure, and data-centric precision agriculture solution that reduces water wastage, improves crop yield decisions, and transforms raw soil data into actionable intelligence through real-time monitoring, automation, and intelligent advisory services.
